For this Southampton home we installed a complete solar and battery system: 11 JA Solar 470W panels on the pitched tiled roof, connected to a FOX EVO all-in-one unit that combines a 5kW inverter with a 10kWh battery.
The System
The 11 panels give the home a solar array of around 5.2kW. The FOX EVO inverter converts the electricity the panels produce into power the household can use, and any surplus charges the 10kWh battery, so solar energy generated during the day can be used in the evening.
Because the inverter and battery are a single all-in-one unit, the installation is neat and compact, mounted on an outside wall with its isolator switch alongside.
The Result
The system is estimated to generate 3,972 kWh of electricity a year and save the household around £859 a year on their energy bills.
With an estimated £859 saved every year, the system is expected to pay for itself in around 7 years and 10 months.
