This Poole home now has a 10.98kWp solar and battery system, installed across its flat roof.
The System
We fitted 18 JA Solar 610W panels, giving a total system size of 10.98kWp. They connect to a FOX ESS KH10 hybrid inverter with 10kW of inverter power, which converts the electricity the panels produce into power for the home.
Surplus energy charges a FOX ESS EP12 Plus battery with 11.52kWh of storage, so solar energy generated during the day can be used in the evening. The inverter and battery are installed together on an inside wall, with the cabling neatly run in white trunking.
The panels come with a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty, and the inverter and battery each have a 10-year warranty.
The Numbers
The system is estimated to generate 9,410 kWh of electricity a year, with an estimated payback period of 6 years and 6 months and estimated net savings of £31,911 over 20 years.
Once the system has paid for itself, after an estimated 6 years and 6 months, the savings keep building, to an estimated £31,911 over 20 years.
