Flat Roof Solar Installation in Poole

The customer originally wanted just six panels installed, but after assessing the roof and working closely with them, we were able to design a system that made much better use of the available space and increase the installation to 19 panels.

A Fixed Flat Roof Mounting System

A key part of this project was the flat roof mounting system.

Many flat roof solar installations use a ballasted system, where additional weight is used to hold the panels in position. Because The Solar Company also has specialist roofing experience, we were able to use a different approach.

We installed Solafix bars directly to the roof membrane, before securely fixing the solar panels to the mounting bars. This provides a fixed installation rather than relying on a heavily weighted system, helping to reduce the additional load placed on the roof.

The Result

The finished system gives the customer a much larger solar array than originally planned, alongside battery storage to help make better use of the electricity generated throughout the day.
